Medical Careers Advisory Session

Making the decision to embark on a career in medicine is something that should not be taken lightly.  Careful consideration should be given to what you really want from your future career and whether you have gained the qualities, attributes and experience required for your approaching application.  Our medical careers advisory session will help you to determine what steps you need to take in terms of gaining the right experience to ensure that your decision to become a doctor is well founded and to subsequently help you to gain the right kind of experience to satisfy the admissions criteria. 

You will have the unique opportunity to spend a 2-hour session with an expert who will talk with you at length about you as a person, why you want to become a doctor and what steps you need to take make your dreams a reality.

The aim of the session will be to:

• Establish why you want to be a doctor
• Determine what steps you need to take to confirm this if you haven't already done so
• Discuss what work experience and extra-curricular activities you should undertake to ensure your future application will stand out from the crowd
• Explore the different attributes medical school admissions tutors look for and how your experiences meet these criteria
• Explain exactly how the application process to medical schools works
• Create an action plan of how you can achieve the above
