360 Degree Appraisal Service

As you are not present when your application is reviewed by the PMETB panel we strongly advise that you include with your application an up to date snapshot of you as a practicing doctor in the form of a comprehensive 360 degree appraisal.  Our '360-degree Appraisal Service', which is conducted online for ease of use and speed, provides doctors with the opportunity to obtain a current assessment of their clinical practice relating to the seven points which the PMETB will assess you against for inclusion on the specialist register via Article 14.

The 360 degree appraisal assesses you on the following seven points based on the GMC's 'Duties of a Doctor':  

• Clinical Work
• Teamwork
• Communication skills with patients 
• Availability
• Teaching and training 
• Management
• Probity

The whole process is administered by questionnaire using a web based system, making it very easy to use and accessible to all doctors.  The system has been tailored for use in both primary and secondary care.  All we need is the name and email address of your appraiser/facilitator and your email address and we will do the rest.  Even if you are an IT phobic we have a telephone helpline and ways around you having to touch a computer.  You will need to choose fifteen peers who could assess you.  These people do not necessarily have to work on your premises.
